ENGLISH LANGUAGE BASED PERFORMANCE ARTS / THEATRE INITIATIVE

Attention Performance/Theatre Artists

English Language based Performance Arts/Theatre initiative in the heart of Loulé.

We will be conducting two collaborative meetings to discuss plans of initiating English language based performance arts/theatre in the Loulé area. These meetings will be used to determine whether or not there is interest in either a weekly theatre based course to take place at Casa da Cultura, Loulé and/or organization of a formal group with the intention of a regular production schedule. We will also discuss alternative English language based performance arts options such as poetry slams and storytelling.

The meetings will take place on Friday, 4 July 2025 and Friday, 18 July 2025, from 7pm to 9pm, at Casa da Cultura de Loulé – Rua 5 de Outubro 36, Loulé.

We will conduct all meetings as well as any prospective courses, rehearsals and productions in ENGLISH. Anyone with a good command of the English language, age 16+, currently living in The Algarve, amateur to professional actors & performers, as well as anyone interested in other aspects of production — playwrights, directors, choreographers, set design, costumes, stage hands, sound and lighting — are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Please be aware: positions are voluntary.

Sessões sobre Teatro em Inglês em Loulé

Nos dias 4 e 18 de Julho de 2025 (19h–21h), terão lugar na Casa da Cultura de Loulé dois encontros colaborativos para discutir a criação de actividades teatrais e performativas em inglês na região.

Será avaliado o interesse na realização de encontros semanais, na formação de um grupo com calendário regular de produções e em alternativas como poetry slams e storytelling.

Aberto a maiores de 16 anos, com bom domínio da língua inglesa (independentemente da nacionalidade), residentes no Algarve.

Dirigido a actores (amadores ou profissionais) e todos os interessados nas várias áreas da produção: escrita, encenação, coreografia, cenografia, figurinos, bastidores, som e luz.

Todas as actividades serão conduzidas em inglês. Participação voluntária.
